I am beyond excited to share with you this amazing recipe that I call my secret weapon into any ice cream lover's heart.



Many people have claimed that the reason they can’t go vegan is because they love ice cream too much. Well folks, that is no longer an excuse with this phenomenal recipe I have in my possession.


I enjoy ice cream, especially in the winter when I am all cozy by the fire and watching a good movie. Strangely I am not a summer ice cream eater like the rest of the world.


This nice cream is perfect for anywhere and anytime that one would choose to indulge themselves in some creamy, flavourful, sweet ice cream, but remember they are vegan.


If someone you know, or if you yourself have been guilty of going out and getting ice cream because you crave it and don’t want to spend all that extra money and time buying the vegan stuff. Here is the golden ticket to satisfying vegan nice cream.


This recipe is great because, like many other vegan treats, it is secretly healthy for you. There is no added sugar (unless you choose to do so), very few ingredients, and takes almost no time at all.


Having the option to make healthier, tastier, and quicker vegan alternatives is a godsend for parents with kids who like to be involved in the nice cream making process.


Everyone who has tasted this nice cream has been pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every spoonful regardless of age or lifestyle choices.


This recipe can be used to make nice cream for a fully vegan nice cream cake for birthday parties (or just because), it can be used in nice cream sandwiches, or it can be eaten out of a bowl with a spoon.


You need this recipe in order to successfully be a vegan that loves ice cream. No more excuses that it takes too long, is too expensive, or you don’t want the extra sugar. This is healthy, takes very little time, and is very affordable.


Flavours

Plain banana = frozen bananas

Vanilla = frozen bananas, vanilla extract, salt, maple syrup

Strawberry = frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, vanilla extract

Mint chip = frozen bananas, mint flavouring, vegan mini chocolate chips, chlorophyll

Peanut butter chocolate = frozen bananas, peanut butter, cacao powder, maple syrup

Moose tracks = frozen bananas, vegan peanut butter cups, vanilla extract, salt

Cookies and cream = frozen bananas, vegan “oreos”, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt





Recipe

4 frozen Bananas, sliced

Flavour of your choosing, as you can see, my favourite is chocolate


Directions

  1. Slice bananas and lay out flat on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

  2. If making nice cream now, put banana slices in the blender. If making later, put banana slices in the freezer bag or leave on the cookie sheet for no more than 3 days (avoid freezer burn).

  3. Add frozen banana slices, flavours, and blend until uniform. May take a few minutes. If your blender is older or not a high speed blender, it may be best to add a couple tsp of non-dairy milk to help the mixture blend easier.

  4. For soft serve nice cream, serve immediately. For hard nice cream, or to save for later. Put nice cream in a glass or metal container and leave in the freezer.

  5. Hard nice cream is easier to scoop out of the container after 5 minutes on the counter top.

  6. Nice cream is good in the freezer for up to 1 to 2 weeks depending on flavouring and container type used.


Notes

  • It is best to use bananas that are somewhat ripe, the more ripe the sweeter the nice cream will be naturally

  • If maple syrup is not accessible or the flavour isn't something you enjoy, you can opt for agave syrup or honey (not vegan)

  • For serving sizes/portions ,consider 1 banana per person. So 4 frozen bananas is 4 servings, adjust flavourings as needed per serving size and preference.

  • ***To make alcoholic banana nice cream shakes, add rum of your choosing. I used Captain Morgan's spiced rum with maple banana nice cream.
